Beyond what we had imagined
Tasha and Louis' home was more than perfect for our family get together. We had a wonderful week and felt badly that we were depriving our hosts from enjoying their beautiful home. The listing was certainly accurate but didn't list all the extras that made it so welcoming, from pool toys to pretty napkins we had everything. Tasha and Louis were welcoming and helpful, responding promptly to questions while leaving us free to enjoy ourselves. The home was spotless and there was plenty of storage space for our own belongings. We were able to sit 14 at the dining table for a special gathering of family and there was plenty of living space and seating both inside and out. The neighbourhood was quiet and safe with lovely places to walk nearby as well as convenient shops. All in all our experience was beyond what we had imagined and we would highly recommend this home to others. We hope to return someday!
Made us feel welcome.
They made us feel welcome by greeting us when we arrived. They gave us a lovely tour of the home and made their belongings available to us. The neighborhood felt safe and was well kept. The location was great and we were able to get to most places we wanted to visit within 20 minutes or less. Their home was very clean and had so many extras, and of course the backyard was amazing. It would be easy to spend the entire time in the backyard. The other thing that I appreciated was how quickly Tasha and Louis responded to the texts that I sent. Whether it was to ask about the best whale watching tour company or where we could find a particular item in the house, they were extremely prompt and helpful. I would highly recommend their home to anyone. We enjoyed Victoria also. The food and service was fabulous at all of the restaurants we visited. Victoria is rich in history and beautiful.

We spent 5 days in this lovely home. We were greeted by Louis. He kindly gave us a tour and explained all the workings of the house. As a family of 7 we thoroughly enjoyed the amazing backyard. If we were not out visiting relatives we were in the back yard floating in the lake, enjoying the hot tub, or visiting on the dock. We barbecued and enjoyed our meals on the back deck and in the dining room which seats a large group of people. The kitchen is extremely well equipped which made our meals at home easy to prepare. There is a beautiful park right across the street, and the neighbourhood very very safe when we went on long walks in the evening. Mount Tomie is just minutes away with lots of hiking trails. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We felt very lucky to find a home that suited our needs, but also was so much fun! Thank you. We would give this "Oasis in the City" 5 stars!
Friendly and accommodating
Our host was friendly and very accommodating. He met us for a tour of the facility to personally go over everything, which was appreciated.
Hosts go out of their way.
Tasha met me at the house (even though my flight was later than anticipated) and gave me a great tour -- the home is even more impressive than can be relayed in the ad. Pictures cannot do the backyard justice at all. Tasha and Louis had gone out of their way to make sure we were going to be comfortable throughout our stay and answered all of my travel-addled questions. I was staying with a group of other academics - librarians, professors, and a computer programmer in all over a course of two weeks while we all either took or taught courses at UVic for the Digital Humanities Summer Institute. The location couldn't have been better- perfect walking access to UVic, close to grocery, Maude Hunters (Monday night music bingo is a favorite!) and plenty of pho, and super easy access to bus routes downtown. We all absolutely loved it. Tasha and Louis were wonderful hosts, checking in throughout our stay to check on the property and to see if we needed anything. We felt welcome and not at all suffocated! We all hope we can return next year.
AMAZING home!
This is an AMAZING home. We rented for a week in July 2016 for our family reunion and it was universally loved by everyone - old, young, toddlers, teens, and everyone in between. We even catered an event using the home because it's so well set-up for entertaining. There are so many great restaurants within minutes of the home - our bellies were so pleased all week long. The swim pond is exquisite and all the kids loved it (the adults fell in love with the hot tub). The playground across the street was also frequently used and so convenient. This was our first trip to Victoria and we will certainly come again - we loved every aspect of the house and would rent again and again. Tasha met us in the home at check-in to give us a personal tour and she was easily accessible by phone and text all week long. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you, Louis and Tasha!
Truly amazing hospitality!
We can't get enough how amazing the house was! When we arrived, Louis gave us a tour around the house and he made sure we were comfortable and welcomed. The house was very neat and the cleanest house I've ever stayed. Obviously the pond and the jacuzzi were used a lot and my father, who flew from Japan and is diabetic could relax his muscles and enjoy his grandson playing in the pond. Because of my father's condition, we were going to cook most meals at the house, so we brought basic cooking tools but once I saw the house I knew I didn't have to bring anything, because they have everything and anything you would possibly need for the trip! The BBQ grill was also amazing and the kitchen was very nice and updated. I need to say a special thank you to Louis because few minutes before we were about to leave the house, my father felt dizzy and exhausted and really needed somewhere to sit down and rest for 30 min and up to an hour. Even though they had a scheduled cleaner that they already hired, Louis quickly responded and offered to call the hospital if my father needed, told us that we can stay and he will reschedule the cleaners and his plans. His flexibility and hospitality is truly amazing and I really really appreciated the extra time for my father to lay down. When we were finally about to leave we were all very sad because we made amazing memories at the house. Thank you Louis and Tasha for such a great home and experience and I hope you have a wonderful summer!
It's hard to believe the family is willing to share their beautiful home!
Tasha and Louis' home was absolutely perfect! Louis met us promptly upon our arrival and gave us a super quick tour of his lovely home. He was very respectful of our long trip and went as quickly as he could. Throughout our stay they were so accessible and available, even giving us detailed suggestions of what to do whenever we had any questions! As for the house, the pictures don't begin to do it justice. It has all the amenities you could possibly need, and was incredibly warm and inviting. They were also so accommodating with different things that came up, like a late flight departure. It's hard to believe the family is willing to share their beautiful home! We had an exceptional time and Tasha and Louis were amazing hosts! Were sad to give them back there home... THANK YOU!!
Exceeded expectations

Perfect spot to relax and unwind.
We had an amazing stay at Louis and Tasha’s family oasis! The name and photos do not do it justice - the backyard is absolutely amazing!! We had a group of ten consisting of three families - everyone had their own space and there was a ton of room to spread out. The kitchen was brilliant with anything you could ever need and in immaculate order. There were several small touches around the house from bath soap to eco friendly laundry detergent and the decor was beautiful and inviting. The backyard truly is an oasis. The floating pond was a wonderful treat after a morning of exploring and the hot tub and outdoor shower added to the experience. There was also a ping pong table and badminton net which was great to keep the kids (and adults!) busy. This is the perfect spot to relax and unwind to enjoy time with family. The house is conveniently located close to many amenities and right across from a wonderful playground and dog park. Louis was a wonderful host who greeted us upon arrival to show us the highlights and was quick to respond to any inquiries before and during our stay. We will definitely be back!
